Brothers and Sisters in Christ, relatives, and friends,
As most of you already know, I have moved to the Commune of Plaisance in the northern area of Haiti. While trying to settle down in that new environment, I spent the past year observing the customs of the people and building a relationship with them. The Commune is mainly composed of farmers, and the living conditions are comparable to those of the agrarian society in the 19th century.
As a response to our prayers and meditations, the Lord led our spirit to select and begin the following three activities. We are making them known particularly to the Church (meaning believers in Christ), but others in whose heart the Lord puts a desire to help can do so principally with the last two activities.
OSS Ministry stands on the following fundamentalist convictions:
We maintain full allegiance to the inerrant, infallible written Word of God: the Bible.
We trust and believe that the Bible is the only source of truth on spiritual matters for the born-again Christian
We affirm the foundational truths of the historic Christian faith:
a) The doctrine of Trinity
b) The incarnation, virgin birth, substitutionary atonement, bodily resurrection, ascension to
heaven, and second coming of the Lord Jesus.
c) The salvation of one’s soul by the grace of God through faith in Christ
d) The new birth of believers through regeneration by the Holy Spirit
e) The resurrection of believers in Christ to eternal life
f) The resurrection of the ungodly to final judgment and eternal damnation
g) The command of the Lord (the Great Commission) to preach and teach the Gospel
h) The call to separate spiritually from all ecclesiastical and individual denial of those truths…
First, I am happy to inform that works have started for a local church: “L’Eglise de la Grâce” (Grace Church) here in the Commune of Plaisance, Haiti.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.
1. Preach the Gospel and teach the Word of God
2. Reach the lost
3. Defend the faith
4. Disciple and nurture the brethren
We are looking for a place –
Renting would be the realistic option (short-term) $1,000/year – But 80% of the houses here in Plaisance are old (some made out of mud and lumber), very small rooms and would not work for us. Security would also be an issue.
1. Buying a land (approximately $1,500 / basic (bare) building roof and fence $7,500) is the mid-term and beyond - much better option
2. 2 Solar Panels regulator 4 batteries $1,800
Other needs would include a used bus or 4x4 pick-up truck (preferably Diesel) to transport church members – benches and chairs – CD’s and CD duplicators (We wish to distribute our audio version of the Creole Bible, Hymns CD’s, Radio Programs, and doctrinal studies free of charge throughout the nation) – Printers, paper and cartridges for the Church’s monthly Newsletter.
At “L’Eglise de la Grâce” (Grace Church) we seek not to be served, but to serve - Not to invest in a building mistakenly called a temple, but in the wellbeing of true temples of God: brothers and sisters in Christ.
We are now meeting once a week for Bible Study / Current theme: The Sabbath (4th Commandment) – A group of 7th Day Adventists requested this study. The Commune is about 50% Roman Catholic and 35% Seventh Day Adventist.
Luke 10:2 Then He said to them, "The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

2Timothy 4:2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.
The radio station will be at our place – We seek not to “entertain the goats, but to feed the sheep”

We will finally build a Computer Lab for young students, with at least 30 workstations, adjacent to the Church.
Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.
We will build the Computer Lab next to the Church. The two buildings would share things such as running / potable water, and security.
1. All of our computers will be obtained through donations – but the cost of shipment for the ones received in the US would be about $30/unit. $1,000.00

In the Commune of Plaisance, 95% of the kids don’t even know what a computer looks like. This is a great opportunity to expose them to today’s technology while also using our access to their ears for teaching and preaching them the Gospel of Christ. This is an activity of “Bon Arbre – Bon Fruit”, the Ministry’s branch through which we address the social needs of the people in the Commune of Plaisance.
Donations already received:
Pledges for 3 PC’s, 1 Laptop
Here are our summarized needs:
1. Church: $10,800.00
2. Radio Station: $7,100.00
3. Computer Lab: $10,400.00
Grand Total: $28,300.00
